Alta Intrusion

Overview

Alta Intrusion is a security alarm system designed to detect and prevent unauthorized access or entry into buildings, areas, and more. Alta Intrusion distinguishes itself by leveraging leading camera-based AI analytics and integrating access control with additional sensor data. Alta Intrusion is part of the Alta product family and was launched at the end of 2024. This product is standalone but delivers optimal performance when combined with other products from the Alta family.

Scope

The market research, competitor analysis, and UX for the MVP of Alta Intrusion were conducted by me, leveraging the initial product research and customer interviews performed by a product manager. Post-UX, I assigned a visual designer from my team to ensure the design was consistent with the rest of the Alta product family. The product is currently undergoing a continuous iterative process with additional features being added, primarily managed by other UX and visual designers on my team under my supervision.

Design

Once the initial design direction and MVP for the product were established, I delegated various tasks to members of my team.

UX flows

After conducting market research, I developed the UX flows for the MVP to demonstrate how the design of key features could differentiate the product from competitors to key stakeholders. Following a go/no-go milestone, I assigned a VD designer to the project to elevate the UX spec to a visual level that would align with the Alta product family.

Full product range integration

Alta Intrusion, being less desk-oriented than Alta Video, required optimization for the entire range of handheld devices. Due to its passive nature, with users typically setting it up once and then only interacting to arm or disarm zones, we focused on optimizing the handheld device software for these primary use cases.

Scheduling

Intrusion systems are frequently used in industries with defined working schedules. Recognizing this, we focused on designing a simple and intuitive scheduling feature for arming and disarming, with advanced features that allow pre-arm and pre-alarm actions to be defined. Ensuring the protection of the companies' interests at its core.

Mobile

Mobile

An alarm often indicates that an entire area has been compromised; therefore, it is essential for a user to easily view all relevant camera angles associated with a single intrusion event on their mobile device to inspect on the go.

Product

The product is currently gaining traction in the market due to its potential for integration with other products in the Alta family. In the long term, the product should also gain traction as a standalone solution.

Akita

Akita

I designed the interface for the Akita, a physical product, which enables users to arm and disarm areas. This interface is the sole physical means for on-site users, such as employees, to interact with and disarm the system.
